Only Half Crazy...

I'm back, baby doll!! We are moved in and getting settled. I'm not as organized as I'd like to be yet. I know, I know. Rome wasn't built in a day but ugh it feels so good to be organized! Actually, the first few nights here you'd think I would have slept great, finally being in my own bed again. Nope. I told my husband in my most hippie voice, that I couldn't sleep because the Feng Shui of our bedroom was off. He rolled his eyes of course but I was right. As soon as our closet was in order, I slept like a baby. Then I started talking about Chakras and he ignored me... Anyway. So what's new??? Wow. I don't know where to start so let's talk about this monumental act. I signed up for a half marathon. Let me repeat that. I signed up for a half marathon. To run. All 13.1 miles. With the potential of it being a blizzard yet in May because let's face it, that's what it's looking like here in the Midwest. I'll give you time to pick your jaw up off the ground. Yep. I signed up. I not only signed up but I've been following a training plan. Say whaaaa? Totally not like me. Ok well I've done it for a week but I've stuck to it! I have a wonderful neighbor who I swap gym time/childcare with and I know she won't let me skip. She frightens me a bit actually. ;) In a good way! There's no way I'd be able to back out on our routine so I know this is going to happen. Unless she moves away in the next 12 weeks...

I joke! I am doing this and you know why? Because my new word is 'embrace' and I am going to rock it. I don't care what my time is going to be. I don't care if I stop and eat a doughnut (which I totally am going to do). I don't care what the result is. I am embracing my gym time. I am embracing it as my alone time. I am embracing my abilities to do this. I am going to soak up the atmosphere of it being the 10th anniversary of the Fargo Marathon. I'm not setting world records here. But I am going to cross this off the 'ol bucket list. Wait, I don't have a bucket list. Nevermind...

So with that, I am going to shoot some videos along the way during my training so you can watch me and keep me on track. I did one today so check it out here.

Half Marathon 2014

I also wanted to share with you my adapted version of a training plan that I am using. Feel free to download it Half Marathon Printable. Please note that I took a program from Hal Higdon's site and changed it around to fit my needs and schedule. I am also not certified in anything so you're on your own if you decide to be as crazy as I am...

With that, I can't wait to be back bloggin' to you again! Take care! Tracy
