Let me start by saying, I'm not a nap taker. I know, I know. I'm a lunatic, right?! But I rarely nap. I rarely napped when I was on maternity leave with my son and that was with the extreme sleep deprivation. I don't know, I just don't do it. If I do, it's a quick 20 minute refresher and I'm back at the day.
In an effort to make sure my son, who has skipped nap the past two days napped, I cuddled up with him. I woke up after the normal 20 minutes but decided "just a few more minutes". Pretty soon, it was 4:15pm.
When mom takes a nap, shit doesn't get done.
Yep. This is the mess in our house, still almost all there to tell you the truth. We have lunch still on the table because I was in such a hurry to get him down for a nap that I left it there. We have my work laptop and documents all over, next to the Llama Llama book that needs to be repaired. We have a sink full of dishes, all huge dishes which I can't just shove into the dishwasher. Good thing today was the day I decided to make muffins too. Yes, the house is a disaster and my work isn't done.
My point? Sometimes self care is worth it. The dishes can wait. The work can wait. The mess will always be there to be cleaned up. Obviously a nap was needed today. And let's face it, I just bought myself a one way ticket to staying up til Midnight...
To learn more about why self care is worth it consider joining my webinar tomorrow night! It's free and we will talk about why it's important for women to take care of their health now! Can't wait for you to tune in!
Now off to clean up. Thank goodness the hubby will be late tonight...
