Are you a list maker? A note taker? A scheduler of all the things? A Type-A?
Are you a planner? Someone who has paper and digital documentations of the day detailed out?
Lately, I've too often found myself in my hurried prayers asking God to bless MY plan rather than focusing on what great plans HE already has laid out for me.
Anyone else? I'm guessing I am not alone here.
We are human and by fault, our trust is shallow. When our calendars are packed and we are responsible for several members of our household coming and going, how can we even begin to think we have time to "let it go, and let God"? Where do we begin to loosen our grip on the calendar to allow His plans for us to seep in?
No, seriously, I'm asking you. How do we begin to trust the promises that are before us in the Word? How do we "let go and let God"? How do we start loosening the grip on our to do lists?
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him - 1 Corinthians 2:9b (NIV)
We have NO IDEA what God has in store for us. None! That's super scary and super exciting all at the same time!
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope - Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
His plans are GOOD plans. He flat out tells us he isn't going to hand us a disaster. He gives us a future and HOPE. Again, super exciting!
And yes I really need answer here because I failed miserably at this today:
How can we stop asking God to bless our plans and start trusting His?
